Nancy Monaghan, violin, is a Summa Cum Laude graduate of music education from West Virginia University. Upon graduating, Nancy  began her teaching career as an orchestra director with the Chesapeake Public School system in Chesapeake, VA. Nancy is  currently in her 25th year teaching in Chesapeake and is the orchestra director at Hickory Middle School, where she teaches 220 young string musicians daily. In addition to performing for weddings and special events, Nancy maintains a private violin and viola studio in her home.


Leslie Erickson, violin, earned a Bachelor of Music Education Degree from East Carolina University and a Master of Music in Violin Performance from Ithaca College in New York. She has been playing the violin for 25 years – years of local orchestras, chamber music, solo recitals, weddings and fiddling. Leslie is the founder and owner of Club Violin and the contact person for booking weddings and events in the Outer Banks.


Deborah Ramos, cello, graduated with a double major in cello performance and music education from East Carolina University in 2010. She is an active cellist and educator performing often for weddings, musicals, concerts and other local events. Deborah has performed professionally as a member of the Tar River Symphony and the metal band Darker Shades of Symphony. She has been a chamber music coach at the North Carolina Suzuki Institute, an active educator in public schools since 2010 and currently teaches orchestra at Deep Creek Middle School in Chesapeake, VA. Deborah also maintains a private cello studio.


Dr. Steven Raisor, guitar,  attended the Berklee College of Music, received a Bachelor’s Degree in Jazz Studies from Barton College, a Masters in Music Performance from Norfolk State University, a Masters in Music Theory from Florida State University, and a Ph.D. in Humanities from Florida State University. Dr. Raisor is the Associate Professor of Music, Miles Clark Endowed Chair at College of the Albemarle where he teaches Music Theory, Music Appreciation, Applied Music, and Humanities. He serves as the director of the Community Band and musical theatre ensembles at the College of the Albermarle. Dr. Raisor was voted 2008 Teacher of the Year at  the College of the Albermarle.


John S. Husser III, bass and cello,  earned an Bachelor’s Degree in Music education from Virginia Tech. He has been performing as a Bassist and Cellist for the past 25 years at local events, weddings and as a sub with the Virginia Symphony. John has been a public school Orchestra Director for the past 20 years and currently teaches at Greenbrier Middle School  in Chesapeake, Virginia. When not teaching or performing, he enjoys golfing, fishing and spending time with his wife and son.


Heather Smith, violin, viola,  is a 2013 graduate from Old Dominion University with a Bachelor’s of Music Education. She is currently in her first year teaching for the Chesapeake Public Schools as an orchestra director.  While pursuing her education, Heather built an impressive private violin and viola studio teaching young musicians in the Hampton Roads area. Already a seasoned wedding performer, she has been part of the Club Violin family for over three years. 


Deanna 2014 Deanna Kringel, violin, viola, flute, received her Bachelor’s Degree in music education with high honors from James Madison University and was the first JMU student to perform a double senior recital on two instruments (violin and flute) She earned her Master’s Degree in Music Education from Old Dominion University. Ms. Kringel is currently in her fifteenth year as the Director of Orchestras at Oscar F. Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia, as well as the beginning strings teacher at several feeder elementary schools. She has been an active musician in Hampton Roads for fifteen years as a violinist, violist and flutist. Club Violin Hampton Roads is excited to be working with such a talented          musician.


Steve HeadshotSteven Campbell,violin, is a native of New York and holds a B.M. in Music Education from the State University of New York at Fredonia.  In addition to being a published composer, Steven has developed an extensive amount of performance experience over the years performing with the SUNY Fredonia Symphony, The Dover Symphony, The College of St. Rose Chamber Orchestra, as well as numerous local and regional ensembles, bands, and his traditional celtic band. Since 2008 Mr. Campbell has been the Director of Orchestras at a public school in Chesapeake, Virginia where he educates young, aspiring musicians.Since 2002, Steven has performed for weddings, cocktail hours, and special events in a wide variety of locations including historic churches, sprawling golf courses, sandy beaches, fragrant gardens, extravagant yachts, and even in the basket of a hot air balloon hundreds of feet off the ground!
